Wines that are bottled under this label have been identified as wines that benefit from and greatly enhance the food pairing experience.  The proper pairing and combination of wine with the food produces a much greater experience than each on its own. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

2016 Fifty-Fifty is a fabulous blend of two great varietals and has produced a unique robust full bodied red. The almost perfect combination of the balanced the acids, big tannins, toasted oak, peppery spiciness and nice fruit flavors  produced this excellent food pairing wine. With only 200 cases produced we only have enough to include this wine in every third order.

Epic Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are  grown in a private vineyard close to Georgetown CA at approximately 2600 foot Elevation in El Dorado County.  We age in American Oak to give our Cabernet wine a beautiful balance and creaminess.   The western slope of the Sierra Foothills provide a unique climate zone for growing red wine grapes. 

The grapes growing season is comprised of  hot days that cool when the sun goes down. When the sun goes down this creates a convection that sucks cold air over the vines and shuts down the photosynthesis and respiration.   As the vines aspirate they pull water and nutrients from below the soil down thru layers of mineral deposits.   The spring  snow melt provides a very clean, naturally filtered,  fresh water  source from the runoff.  Wines of the Sierra Foothills are quickly becoming recognized throughout the world for their quality. They have incredible complex bright clean fruit flavors and incredible noses.

When you find a good vineyard that produces flavors that you favor in your wines you develop and protect that relationship with the grower. Great wine starts in the vineyard!
